“I teach at One Yoga to stay connected to this beautiful and inspiring satsang (Yoga facing Community). The experienced teachers and passionate students continually open me to deeper aspects of my practice and myself.”
Matthew has been a student of Yoga since 1995 and humbly teaches posture and breath interwoven with reflections on classical text since 2002. He has also been influenced by Martial Arts study since 1999.
Matthew approaches the practice as that of remembering what we already know. The postures and breath exercises then become an experiential description of how to “feel” beyond what we “think” this experience is. Classes are challenging but invite awareness of subtle energies through deep relaxation and surrender. Asana, Pranayama, Bandhas, Meditation, Mantra, and Music may weave into the ritual practice of re-collecting who and what we are.
Matthew works with all people of all experience and ability levels. Everyone is welcome. Students have ranged from Olympic athletes, to kids, to people with debilitating injury and disease. He even taught the MN Gophers Football team for a season.
