Racial Justice Study Group
The One Yoga Racial Justice Study Group is dedicated to researching, understanding, and dismantling the social and cultural forces that reinforce racial privilege and oppression in our community. We see this work - showing up to skillfully respond to suffering as it manifests in our day-to-day lives - as an important part of our yoga practice.
This is an open group and everyone is welcome. In advance of the February meeting, participants are invited to do some self-guided study on the topic of race relations in the United States over the period of the last century (i.e. book, film, etc.) and reflect on the following discussion prompts:
Share one element or theme from resource that was particularly interesting to you
Share how you are feeling about/relating to your resource in the context of your personal journey
Mindfulness is a core guiding value of this group. Each meeting will begin and end with a short meditation practice.
