About Us

One Yoga improves health equity in our community through access to a broad range of teachings and practices of yoga.

One Yoga breaks down social, cultural, and economic barriers to yoga. Our space is welcoming to all.

One Yoga opened its doors in July 2002. In April 2005, seeing the need to make yoga and mindfulness practices more broadly accessible, a group of instructors took the initiative to apply for 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. The application was approved in March 2007, allowing staff and teachers to implement new programming, including a community outreach program; sliding-fee rates for memberships and classes; and mission-driven classes, workshops, and series.

In December 2010, One Yoga moved from Franklin & Lyndale to its studio on W. 26th St. in Minneapolis, its home for nearly 10 years. In October 2020, after closing to in-person classes for more than half a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, One Yoga went completely virtual by ending the lease on the 26th St. location and is currently looking for its new South Minneapolis home.

One Yoga currently offers 37 live stream yoga classes per week, and 7 weekly outdoor classes in the park June-Sept. In 2020, we served an average of 68 students per day.

We host regular workshops, series, and advanced trainings inspired by our mission to advance health equity. In 2020, we served a total of 1,743 unique clients.

Through our sliding-fee scale, we offer reduced rates on class passes and memberships for individuals experiencing financial hardships. In 2020, we served 117 sliding-fee students.

Through our Community Partners Program, we collaborate with service providers in our community to offer group yoga classes. In 2020, we offered 34 unique classes through this program.

Current community partners include:

Additionally, we partner with a number of other community organizations to provide yoga and mindfulness programs for staff and clients on an ad hoc basis. For example, we provide programming for staff wellness weeks, conferences, special events, and more. For more information contact claire@one-yoga.org.
