Farewell to Instructors Amy and Kelly

In this time of great change, all of us here at One Yoga wish the very best to Amy Patee and Kelly LaFrenier, who are both moving on to their next adventures away from One Yoga (for now) and away from the Twin Cities.

From Amy Patee:

Dearest One Yoga Community,

Almost 20 years ago I was given the opportunity to share the beautiful practice of yoga at a newly opened studio in Uptown, Minneapolis called One Yoga. Little did I know at the time that this space would become my yoga home. Students that attended some of my very first classes at OY have become life-long friends. Through its many iterations, OY remained my place for community and connection with like-minded folks. A place for healing, spiritual exploration, laughter, and heart-centered embodiment. And, it is with bitter sweetness today that I say goodbye to this yoga home.

Like so many people, the past two years have given me space to feel more deeply into some of life's big questions: "Who am I now?" "What am I here to do now?" "What really matters to me now?" Honest self-reflection can be a potent catalyst for change, and I am doing my best to honor and flow in alignment with the answers I am receiving.

In addition to no longer teaching at OY, I also recently sold my house and quit my fulltime job (which I took a couple years ago to give myself a much needed break from the never-ending entrepreneurial hustle). Come September 30 I'll be leaving for Costa Rica for a three-month adventure and have no idea what January 2022 holds for me!

Yes, I'm a bit scared, but mostly excited. And while I will miss my OY family, there are so many ways for us to stay connected! If you are on social media (Instagram or Facebook), come say hi! I will definitely be sharing my Costa Rica journey and discoveries there! You can also sign up for my email list to receive updates from me about any special classes or retreats I schedule in the future. Or, simply visit my website any time to see what I'm up to. I would love to stay in touch with you!

Until our paths cross again, I am sending you so much gratitude for our exchange of energy over the years. May your journey continue to bring you closer to your truth and what really makes you happy! May you let yourself evolve and embrace the continual newness of the present moment.

From Kelly LaFrenier:

I am grateful for the time I spent with One Yoga over the past several years as a student, working at the front desk doing work trade, and as a teacher. There are so many wonderful people who have been a part of my experience at One Yoga and I’m very grateful for that. I’ve recently taken some time away from teaching online classes and have decided that I will not be returning to the schedule this fall or for the foreseeable future. Wishing everyone the best! Grateful for the opportunity to meet you.

Thank you Amy for all your guidance and love all those years at OY...15 maybe???! I have so many fond memories of countless classes and forward folds, pranayama, handstands, etc... with you and those flowing vibes live on inside me and will continue to do so always, even not being able to do much yoga now. You are one of a kind and such a gift to the yoga world! I have been practicing with SDR via Zoom since the pandemic and I am always reminded of your classes... loving it, perfect for me. I remember how much you loved and gushed about Costa Rica when you went some years ago and I am so happy to hear you …
