Making Noise for Trans Lives

Today is International Transgender Day of Visibility. This is a day to celebrate the joy and resilience of Trans and Non-Binary folx by elevating their voices and experiences. Trans rights and the livelihood of Trans folx are under fire all over the United States. While Minnesota has passed a "Trans refuge" bill to prevent out-of-state laws from interfering with the practice of gender-affirming care in Minnesota, many other states are taking this away from our Transgender friends and neighbors. One Yoga stands for Trans lives and Trans rights.

On Tuesday, May 2 at 6:00pm, One Yoga is hosting "Making Noise for Trans Lives," a class and fundraiser in conjunction with our friends The Driftless Yoga Center in Decorah, Iowa who are hosting the same class on Tuesday, May 2 in Iowa. Proceeds from the fundraiser will support The Iowa Trans Mutual Aid Fund, whose goal is to provide financial assistance to Trans and Nonbinary individuals in the state of Iowa as they access gender-affirming care. Learn more about them at

Please join us at One Yoga in Minneapolis for an hour-long, all-levels yoga class led by One Yoga instructor Kai Adams on May 2, followed by a half hour to just be, whatever that looks like for you, plus tea and cookies. Throughout the evening there will be space to move, breathe, and make noise as we gather in community and raise funds to support trans lives. If you are in Iowa, please join The Driftless Yoga Center in Decorah for a class hosted by Laree Schouweiler.

Whether or not you can make it, please consider donating to the fundraiser to support the lives of Trans folx in Iowa:
