MEMBERSHIP AND ENGAGEMENT DIRECTOR
Position: Client Services, Membership Retention & Development, Volunteer Management, Community Engagement
Hours: 20 hours per week; minimum of 3 evening and one weekend shift each week; some work-from-home flexibility; flexibility to fill in work study shifts as needed
Compensation: $20/hour; membership at One Yoga
Reports to: One Yoga Leadership Team & Board of Directors
The Membership and Engagement Director works to build relationships with our current member base, as well as recruit new members to join the studio. They help students find the right schedule of classes to meet their needs, cultivate memberships, and consult with students on an ongoing basis about their practice. Additionally, they manage the One Yoga Work Study program, work with the Leadership team on community engagement, and support customer service and organizational operations.
The Membership and Engagement Director is a part of the One Yoga Leadership Team, which currently includes the Development & Marketing Director and Program Director. They also participate in monthly Board Meetings.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Services:
Actively assist existing and new students in finding appropriate classes to meet their personal goals
Consult with and advise students on all aspects of their yoga practice, providing ongoing support and guidance as desired by each individual student
Be knowledgeable about and provide guidance on One Yoga programs and pricing options
Resolve student account issues and respond to student inquiries, including complaints
Check students into class/workshop/etc. using MindBody Online (MBO) when needed
Answer calls promptly and courteously, respond to voice message inquiries
Help students complete all paperwork as appropriate; manage student paperwork (filing, printing, uploading to MindBody online)
Member Retention & Development:
Create and execute membership campaigns to recruit new members, to invite back previous members, or to turn Intro Offer students into members
Set membership goals and help forecast and meet them
Proactively connect with students about membership options (including member-donor, regular, and sliding-fee memberships) through in-studio presence, phone calls, emails, logging contacts in MBO, scheduling follow-up
Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely data/information for reporting and forecasting purposes, and provide additional quantitative and qualitative feedback
Volunteer Management:
Manage the One Yoga Work Study program, including greeters, front desk staff, and cleaners
Train new work study participants; update work study manuals and policies as needed
Maintain clear communication with work study participants and build community within the work study team
Maintain detailed calendars of work study shifts and help arrange subs, or cover shifts, as needed
Community Engagement:
Work with the Leadership Team to create a community engagement plan
Attend community engagement events, such as Open Streets Franklin, Celebrate Seward, or Greenway Glow.
Work with the Leadership Team to engage the One Yoga community of teachers, guest teachers, work study, and members in attending community events
Other:
Work with the Leadership Team to support organizational financial goals and operational needs
Support program staff in implementation of One Yoga programs, including both in-person and virtual offerings (classes, workshops, and advanced trainings)
Circulate Zoom class recording links to registered participants several times per week
Other duties as determined by the One Yoga Leadership Team
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
Passion for yoga and One Yoga’s mission of improving health equity in the community through a broad range of teachings and practices of yoga
Knowledge of yoga, including an understanding various styles, philosophy, and mental and physical health benefits of practice
Two (2) years of customer/client service experience; ability to deliver a high level of customer service in a professional, courteous, and friendly manner
Comfort with and sensitivity to many lifestyles, cultures, and communities; ability to meet the needs of students of all different abilities and experience levels
Ability to work collaboratively in a team, as well as take direction as needed
Ability to take initiative and manage projects without supervision
Proactive problem solver, detail-oriented, organized with excellent time management skills
Comfortable with computers and effective at learning and using the necessary software products (i.e. Mindbody Online, Google Applications, Microsoft Excel, Zoom)
Ability to work a minimum of 3 evening and 1 one weekend shifts in-person at the studio each week
Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
Desired Qualifications:
Experience working in retail, yoga, fitness, and/or health industry
Experience working in Mindbody Online
Proven leadership and volunteer management experience
