Aubrey began her yoga journey with a desire to heal herself from depression. Years of study and practice have given her access to an ever-deepening, resilient spiritual connection that inspires her to fearlessly love herself and her community, and to help bring unity and empowerment to students from all walks of life.
Aubrey's work as a case manager for people experiencing homelessness has given her a unique understanding of the deep need for healing in the Minneapolis community. She runs a free weekly yoga program for people who have experienced homelessness, and for employees of a local social service agency. She is constantly amazed by the power of breath, movement, and mindfulness to bring balance and healing to all types of people.
Aubrey's classes are engaging, inspiring, accessible, and relevant. She aims to empower her students to cultivate their own personal practice outside the studio. She infuses her classes with meditative practices to bring balance to the body, mind, and breath. Aubrey received her 200-hour teaching certification through Radiant Life Yoga in Minneapolis, and her 500-hour certification through Devanadi School of Yoga and Wellness in Minneapolis. She has also studied with the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center, the Himalayan Institute, and the Center for Mind-Body Medicine. When she's not at the yoga studio, you can find her strumming a banjo tune, conjuring up something tasty in her kitchen, or biking around in the snow.
"The work of cultivating a spiritual practice can reveal to us what we've been longing for: a rich, resilient sense of identity brimming with unconditional love, acceptance, and inner balance."
