Art Gallery
One Yoga also serves as a gallery for local artists. Like yoga, art is an expression of the union of mind, body and spirit, and about every six weeks, we open a new exhibition of work. Please take your time in our space to enjoy the art, and feel free to ask desk staff if you have any questions about the artist or wish to purchase a piece. 10% of each art sale supports our mission to provide yoga to populations that traditionally lack access to the practice.
Our walls are currently graced with the work of printmaker Sue Filbin. Please join us for a reception with her on March 7th from 6:30 to 8pm!
Artist Statement
I’m a nature printer. I apply water-soluble printmaking ink to leaves, place dampened
Oriental papers over the inked specimens, and press mightily with my hand to make a print.
The impressions from the plants inspire me to really see and appreciate the beauty of nature--
a discovery I very much enjoy sharing with others.
Each collage in the exhibit was formed from original prints. When the prints were combined with portions of other prints and some of the yoga sutras, a focal point resulted and unity occurred. Focus and unity are some of the tenets of my own yoga practice.
As you know, yoga is a universal pursuit and yet it’s as personal as our own breath. Nature is similar; it is everywhere and yet it is as intimate as a leaf held between our fingertips. For me, the practices of both yoga and nature printing absorb me and lead me to make meaningful discoveries. May you make joyful discoveries as you view my work.
