Fulfilling Our Mission

Picture
Every year hundreds of people receive free or low-cost yoga from One Yoga. We serve people recovering from trauma to the body and the spirit, people who are in crisis, and people who simply cannot pay. This is who we are as a yoga community.

In our studio, we have an almost unheard of practice of offering a sliding fee for low-income students. In 2015, that allowed 98 students who could not otherwise afford it to practice yoga all year long.

In recent months, we have provided yoga to incarcerated women, pregnant teens, low-income patients in chronic pain, people struggling with mental health issues and addiction, autistic adults, and many other marginalized populations. Yoga brings them healing and peace of mind, wellness and strength.

One Yoga is a rare non-profit yoga studio.

Our mission is to alleviate suffering and create well-being for people who don’t have access to or cannot afford the healing, transformative powers of yoga. We match certified yoga teachers with people experiencing trauma, illness, abuse, addiction, and spiritual crises.

We always welcome new teachers, partners, ideas, collaborations, and of course, feedback!
