Four hundred people received free or low-cost yoga this year from One Yoga. We serve people recovering from trauma to the body and the spirit, people who are in crisis, and people who simply cannot pay. This is who we are as a yoga community.

In our studio, we have an almost unheard of practice of offering a sliding fee for low-income students. In 2013, that allowed 142 students who could not otherwise afford it to practice yoga all year long.

In recent months, we have provided free yoga to incarcerated women, homeless families, pregnant teens, low-income patients in chronic pain, at-risk youth, people struggling with mental health issues and addiction, autistic adults, and many other marginalized populations. Yoga brings them healing and peace of mind, wellness and strength.

In 2013, we partnered with 19 community organizations, and provided nearly 200 weeks of free yoga. We have 70 volunteer yoga teachers on our roster, ready to vastly expand our compassion in the community. We are aiming for 30 partnerships next year.

One Yoga is a rare nonprofit yoga studio - the oldest one in Minneapolis. Our community outreach program is called Karma Tribe.

Karma Tribe's mission is to alleviate suffering and create well-being for people who don’t have access to or cannot afford the healing, transformative powers of yoga. We match certified yoga teachers with people experiencing trauma, illness, abuse, addiction, and spiritual crises.

We always welcome new teachers, partners, ideas, collaborations, and of course, feedback!
